SEPTEMBER:
LSA BBQ

The BBQ is a great way to start getting involved with the Laurier Student Alumni.  After the BBQ why not join the LSA general members?! All you have to do is attend the meetings every Wednesday at 5:30pm in Alumni Hall.  Can't make the meetings just send us your email and we will let you know what the LSA is up to.  Any Laurier student can attend the BBQ!

.

OCTOBER:
Homecoming
The Laurier Student Alumni (LSA) has a huge role in Laurier's Homecoming weekend.  From hosting an alumni BBQ to helping out with registration the LSA are always offering a helping hand.  The LSA also offers a FREE Pancake Breakfast for anyone attending the Homecoming weekend.

.

Degree Framing

It's that time again to send off the Laurier graduates.  At both Spring and Fall convocation the LSA sells degree frames to graduates so they can showcase their achievements.  The LSA organizes this program that sells a variety of frames.  All proceeds go to the LSA programming budget and back into the Laurier community.

NOVEMBER:
Parent's Day

Laurier Parent's Day is the time for parent's to come to see where all their money is going.  The LSA invites all parents of first year students to tour the campus, see where their child is living and attend a luncheon and reception.  The day offers valuable information to parents as they listen to guest speakers including the Students Union President.  Parents and students also have the opportunity to interact with faculty members during the reception.

DECEMBER:
Seasonal Dinner
Hosted by the Alumni Association, the general membership is invited to attend the Seasonal Dinner. This is a great chance to speak to alumni and university administrators one-on-one and enjoy a hearty meal!

Winter Retreat
The Winter Retreat is a chance for the general membership to get away and relax, take in some leadership sessions, and have fun before the exam crunch begins.

This retreat is attended by as many people as we can accommodate or who would like to attend for as little cost as possible. This is a great team-building weekend and is a "must try" for those new to the LSA.

JANUARY:
Winter Carnival
Each year, the Laurier Student Alumni participates in Winter Carnival celebrations in one way or another. In 2002 they launched a new program, giving out hot chocolate to Winter Carnival participants, and it was a huge success. This is an excellent awareness program for the Association.

.

Learning to Network: The Art of Powerful Conversation

Learning to Network: The Art of Powerful Conversation is an informative and interactive presentation created by award winning producer and entrepreneur, Laurier alumnus Stuart Knight. It provides students and Laurier Alumni with an opportunity to discover how to network effectively by communicating on a powerful level.

.

FEBRUARY:
Conferences and Retreats

The LSA offers members a chance to attend national and local conferences and retreats. Conferences and retreats help executive and general members develop leadership, communication and networking skills, and help generate new fundraising and event ideas. While at conferences, the LSA is always looked upon to provide information on events and fundraisers, further solidifying the LSA's reputation as Canada's strongest student alumni association.

MARCH:
Grad Fest
Grad Fest is a celebration, welcoming the graduating class to the Alumni Association. Graduating students can discover all the benefits and services available to them now that they are alumni. Laurier Student Alumni co-ordinates a free barbeque with spectacular prizes (including a trip!) and there is always a great turnout. The night continues at the Turret where all prizes are given out.

.

APRIL:
Exam Care Package Distribution

April can be a stressful time for students as final exams creep up.  The LSA helps to alleviate some of the exams time stress through coordinating the ECP program.  The program allows family members and friends to send Laurier students care packages that include many university necessities.

JUNE:
Degree Framing

During Spring Convocation, Laurier Student Alumni sell diploma and degree frames to alumni. A variety of frames are offered and revenue from sales assists LSA's programming budget for the year.
